To create this piece, several blocks were engraved and cut using traditional wood engraving tools and gouges. Each block contributes a layer to the composition and a specific colour to the image. The process began with a drawing in response to a particular location, combined with drawings of maps and archival materials to build a multi-layered design. The transparency of the ink enhances this layered effect, adding depth to the final print.
