‘The Mill’ forms part of new research and experiments in relief printmaking – a project in progress depicting and recording the landscape of the Broads National Park through walking, drawing and printmaking. The Broads National Park is a place with a sense of uniqueness. This man-made landscape with its unique biodiversity and ecology, rich in plant and animal life, is maintained by drainage pumps along a complex network of cuts and dykes.

‘The Mill’ experiments with ideas of reclaimed landscape and its association with the sea, and the notion of place. In February 2016 I completed a number of walks through the Broads National Park. With the use of archival material, maps, aerial photography and historic texts, three walks to one location formed the focus for this project. The Mill, Broads engraving #2, is a five-colour engraving and was completed 2017. It can be seen alongside other engravings in this series
