Towards the end of 2011 I began a series of drawings as a direct response to connect to my new home on the North Norfolk coast, with work commencing on the wood engravings in 2012. ‘Seaside Steps‘ black and white edition, was completed in 2015. Trace, footprint, histories and palimpsest give context; seaside steps defend Eccles Chase, at the end of Seaside Lane, where the sea overwhelmed the mediaeval Norfolk village of Eccles
