‘The Reef at Dawn’ The dark rocks of the coastal reef emerge in the early morning light during our daily dog walk along the North Norfolk coast. Tall metal poles at the ends of the rocky groynes mark the edge of the shoreline, warning of the rocks submerged at high tide. These sea defences attempt to hold the line against the inshore winds and the pull of the sea.
