‘The Bay’ is a wood engraving of a seascape, with the shoreline framed by rocky bays on either side. Posts and rows of rocks act as coastal defences, shaping the landscape. The print was inspired by location-based drawings made during coastal walks near our home on the North Norfolk coast. Offshore reefs help break the force of storm waves before they reach the beach, gradually building up the foreshore and shaping the bays while also managing wider coastal changes.
